The BBC reports this week that a young lady, Louise Thomas (19), is the first in the UK to undergo eyelash transplant.

Louise who suffered from trichotillomania (obsessive hair plucking) as a youth is reported to be delighted with the results.

Shami Thomas who carried out the surgery said: "We often look to America for the latest in cosmetic surgery as they are the pioneers in the industry, but not all are as successful and safe as this one."
